We’re excited to introduce Mission Assistant in Aplos: a new chat experience that helps you ask questions about your financial data and get fast, clear answers based on your reports in Aplos.
Within Aplos, Mission Assistant is designed to make report exploration faster and easier. Instead of manually searching through reports for answers to questions about your data, you can use Mission Assistant to ask a question in plain language and get conversational help based on your available reporting data.
For a limited time, Mission Assistant is available for free while in beta (active development). This means the experience is still being improved and minor errors or unexpected behavior may occur.
When to use Mission Assistant in Aplos
Mission Assistant can help you explore the financial information already available in your Aplos reporting data, including revenue, expenses, funds, budgets, balances, transactions, and more. You can ask questions in plain language, such as “What were our expenses last month?”, “How much has been spent from a specific fund this year?”, “Are we tracking over or under budget?”, or “What is our current financial position?” You can also ask follow-up questions to narrow the answer, compare time periods, or better understand what you’re seeing in your reports.
Mission Assistant is designed to help point you in the right direction when you need a faster way to understand your financial data. Instead of manually searching through multiple reports or trying to remember where to find a specific answer, you can describe what you’re looking for and Mission Assistant can help surface relevant information, summarize what it finds, and guide you toward the reports or data points that may be most useful to review. It does not replace your financial review process, but it can help you get oriented more quickly so you know where to look next.
If you have questions about using Aplos, troubleshooting an issue, or contacting support, please continue to use the Support chat, which is found in your lefthand navigation menu. A quick rule of thumb: questions about your data go to Mission Assistant, while questions about the product go to support chat.
How to get started
You will notice a pink button in the bottom-right corner of any screen in Aplos. When you click this button, you will open the Mission Assistant chat experience. Within this window, you can ask questions, use the suggested questions, and open relevant reports from within the chat when you want to review the underlying details. Then, easily minimize the Mission Assistant window while continuing your work in Aplos.
Everyone within an Aplos account has access to use Mission Assistant. However, the data shown to each user within an account is based on their current permissions level.
Mission Assistant is available within all Aplos accounts for free for a limited time. During this period, no action is needed in order to enable this feature.
A note about the beta
Mission Assistant in Aplos is currently in beta. That means the experience is still being improved, and minor errors, incomplete answers, or unexpected behavior may happen as we continue learning from customer usage and feedback.
Mission Assistant is designed to support financial review workflows, not replace them. Please review the underlying reports and source data before making financial decisions.
Your feedback during beta will help us improve Mission Assistant and shape how it supports nonprofit finance workflows over time.
The long-term vision
Mission Assistant in Aplos is one early step in a larger vision for how Velora can help nonprofit teams work across their finance and fundraising data with more clarity and actionable insights. Over time, Mission Assistant is planned to become a broader AI-powered experience across Velora products, helping customers find answers, understand trends, and move through key workflows more easily across the tools they already use.
The Mission Assistant chat experience within Aplos is part of a bigger product vision: bringing AI-powered intelligence to charitable organizations so you can drive bigger impact, faster.
