What are Account Segments?
With Aplos Advanced Accounting, you can use Account Segments to run reports for specific accounts. These segments allow you to filter reports by the accounts you’ve grouped, making report generation easier. Depending on how you’ve set up your Chart of Accounts, you might find it useful to generate reports for specific departments or ministries. Account Segments make this possible. Below are the steps to create your Account Segments and quickly generate reports filtered by them.
Creating your Account Segments:
You can create your segments from the Account Segments tab on your Accounts page.
- Navigate to Fund Accounting -> Accounts -> Segments
- Click the green plus (+) to the right
- Name your segment.
- Select the accounts you want to include. For example:
- Choose specific income and expense accounts within a department.
- Or select an entire Account Group to include all accounts in that group.
- Scroll to the bottom and click the 'Add' button
Generating Faster Reports:
Now that your Account Segments are set up, you can filter your reports by segment. The reports that can be filtered by Account Segment are:
To filter a report:
- Open the report and click Report Filters -> Segments.
- Choose the segment you want to filter by
- Click Apply.
- Export, print, save, or share your report using the options at the top right of the page.
